Consumption was recorded by the company itself from the bus waybills; the treatment was carried out by LLC “Arktik-Avto”.

Recorded in the company report

The decision to treat was taken after an inspection of the fuel system and an analysis of consumption from the waybills: the injection pump was worn so badly that the XADO revitalizant gel was applied in two stages. Further, in the words of the report: “As of 01 June 2002 the monthly fuel overrun amounted to 106 (one hundred and six) litres. After treatment of the fuel system, analysis of the waybills as of 31 July 2002 showed fuel savings of 79 (seventy-nine) litres. After the repeat treatment of the fuel system, analysis of the waybills as of 05 August 2002 showed savings of 15 (fifteen) litres.” The worn high-pressure injection pump stayed on the vehicle and continued to work on the route — the overrun in the company’s waybills gave way to savings.

The results relate to the fuel system of an Ikarus-280 bus in scheduled passenger service; on other equipment and under a different duty cycle the figures may differ.
