Vehicle power steering systems
Vehicle power steering systems are subject to treatment. The purpose is restorative repair and wear protection of the power steering hydraulic system components without disassembly, under normal operating conditions.
Procedure for treating vehicle power steering systems with XADO revitalizant gel
What is treated
- Vehicle power steering systems that have no components or mechanisms with limiting wear or mechanical damage (cl. 8.1)
When treatment is not performed
- Power steering systems having components or mechanisms with limiting wear or mechanical damage are not subject to treatment
Preparation
- Before starting the treatment, perform diagnostics of the power steering hydraulic system (cl. 8.2)
- Pay attention to the alignment of the belt drive pulleys; misaligned pulleys cause increased noise of the pump drive belt
- Eliminate working fluid leaks
- If the oil filter of the filler reservoir is contaminated, replace it
- If the oil level in the power steering reservoir is low, top up the oil to the required level in accordance with the power steering operating manual
- Heavily contaminated hydraulic fluid in the system must be replaced

Treatment stages
- Add "XADO revitalizant gel for power steering" into the power steering reservoir in the quantity specified in table 8.1
- Turn the steering wheel in both directions to the stops5-10 minutes
- Operate the power steering hydraulic system in normal modeFull treatment cycle — at least 50 operating hours or at least 1500 km of mileage
Points to watch
- A contaminated oil filter of the filler reservoir may reduce the effectiveness of revitalization
- A characteristic sign that revitalization has begun is an improvement in the operation of the steering mechanism (reduced steering effort, crisper operation, less noise) from the very first kilometres of mileage
- If after 100-200 km of mileage no improvement in the operation of the mechanism occurs, the most likely cause is erroneous diagnostics
