Oil-lubricated plain bearings
The procedure describes the treatment of bearing assemblies with plain bearings lubricated with oil using XADO revitalizant gel for compressors and bearings (industrial). The purpose is to restore and protect friction surfaces without stopping or disassembling the assembly.
Procedure for treating bearing assemblies with plain bearings lubricated with oil using XADO revitalizant compounds
What is treated
- Bearings with a wear degree of less than 80%, free of defects and mechanical damage.
- Plain bearings lubricated with oil.
- New bearing assemblies or assemblies with wear up to 10% — treated by the same procedure, but in 4 stages.
When treatment is not performed
- Bearings with a wear degree of 80% or more are not subject to treatment.
- Bearings having defects and mechanical damage are not subject to treatment.
Preparation
- Eliminate oil leaks before treatment.
- Before starting the treatment, take measurements of the main operating parameters (see the measurements section).
What is measured before and after

Treatment stages
- In a separate vessel, take a small amount of the standard oil (at a ratio of 1 part of the gel being dissolved to 5-10 parts of oil) heated to 50-60 °C, add the calculated amount of XADO revitalizant gel for compressors and bearings (industrial) at a rate of 1.5 ml per 1 litre of the standard oil, and mix the components thoroughly. Introduce the resulting mixture into the oil bath of the bearing assembly, start the mechanism and operate it in the standard mode.The interval until the next stage is not less than 8-12 hours of total bearing operating time.

After treatment
- The treatment is considered complete after 550 hours of total bearing operating time from the beginning of the first stage.
- After completion of the full treatment cycle, the main operating parameters are measured again: radial clearance (play), shaft radial runout, vibration level, operating oil temperature, current or power consumption of the electric motor.
Points to watch
- Only bearings with a wear degree of less than 80%, free of defects and mechanical damage, are subject to treatment.
- Oil leaks must be eliminated before treatment.
- For plain bearings lubricated with oil, it is specifically "XADO revitalizant gel for compressors and bearings (industrial)" that is used.
