Gasoline four-stroke engines
Restorative repair and wear protection of operable gasoline four-stroke internal combustion engines with an oil system capacity of up to 30 l, without taking the unit out of service for repair and without disassembly. The gel is introduced into the standard oil in three stages without an oil change; if required, the fuel system is treated in parallel.
Procedure for treating gasoline four-stroke internal combustion engines with an oil system capacity of up to 30 l with XADO revitalizant gel
What is treated
- Operable gasoline four-stroke internal combustion engines with an oil system capacity of up to 30 l.
- Including turbocharged engines.
- Engines having no parts with 100% wear or mechanical damage.
- New engines — according to a separate consumption rate (column of table 22.1 "for treating a new engine").
- The fuel system of a gasoline engine — with "XADO revitalizant gel for gasoline engine fuel equipment" in one stage, in parallel with the treatment of the oil system.
When treatment is not performed
- Engines having parts with 100% wear or mechanical damage are not subject to treatment.
- If cylinder wear is approaching the critical level, or if there is mechanical damage to the cylinder working surface deeper than 0.15 mm, the main treatment must be preceded by an additional treatment of the cylinder working surface with "XADO revitalizant gel for cylinders".
Preparation
- Eliminate leaks and the causes of increased oil consumption due to burn-off (recommended before treatment).
- Flush the engine oil system with an oil system cleaner: add the cleaner to the old oil at a rate of 100.0 ml per 1 liter of the standard oil in the engine; operate the engine in normal mode for 15-25 hours; drain the old oil, replace the fine filter or flush the centrifugal oil cleaning filter; fill with fresh oil and carry out the treatment according to items 22.4.1-22.4.5.
- For complete removal of varnish deposits on the pistons and piston rings — before the oil change and the start of treatment, decarbonize the cylinder-piston group with VERYLUBE "Antikoks" at a rate of 1 tube (10.0 ml) per 1 cylinder; the application procedure is given in the instructions on the package.
- Before treating the fuel system, it is recommended to flush it with the "Benzobak" complex cleaner or the "Verylube SET 100" complex fuel system cleaner for gasoline engines; the gel treatment is carried out after the gasoline containing the fuel system cleaner has been used up.
- Warm up the engine to operating temperature (before each stage of gel introduction).
What is measured before and after
| Parameter | Instrument | How and when |
|---|---|---|
| Compression value in each cylinder | Compression gauge or compression recorder | Before the start and after the completion of the full treatment cycle. The procedure for taking compression measurements is set out in appendix No. 4. |
| Volume of fuel consumed at idle or at fixed operating modes per unit of time | Determination of the difference between residual fuel volumes | Over a fixed period of engine operation. It is permitted to measure the engine running time at fixed modes on the same amount of fuel. |
| Oil pressure | — | At a fixed engine temperature at idle or at specified engine speeds. |
| Engine power | Special test bench | Measurements are carried out on a special test bench. |

Treatment stages
- Warm up the engine to operating temperature. Introduce the required amount of "XADO revitalizant gel for gasoline engines" into the engine oil filler neck in accordance with table 22.1. Start the engine and let it run at idle for at least 2 min. Continue operating the engine in normal mode without overloads.Idling for at least 2 min
- Repeat the actions of items 22.4.1-22.4.4: warming up, introducing the gel according to table 22.1, running at idle for at least 2 min, further operation in normal mode without overloads. After 150-250 km of run following the first stage
- Repeat the actions of items 22.4.1-22.4.4: warming up, introducing the gel according to table 22.1, running at idle for at least 2 min, further operation in normal mode without overloads. After 150-250 km of run following the second stage
- Fuel system treatment (in parallel with the oil system treatment, in one stage): prepare the required amount of XADO revitalizant gel for gasoline engine fuel equipment in accordance with table 22.2 depending on the engine displacement, introduce it into the fuel tank with a minimum amount of fuel, fill the tank with fuel, and operate the engine in normal mode.80 engine hours of operation or 3500 km of run
After treatment
- The engine treatment is considered complete after a run of at least 1500 km from the beginning of the first treatment stage.
- After the completion of the full cycle, the main operating parameters of the engine (compression, fuel consumption, oil pressure, power) are measured and compared with the measurements taken before the start of treatment.
- Revitalization of the fuel system is considered complete after 80 engine hours of operation or 3500 km of run.
- A characteristic sign of the onset of revitalization is an improvement in the operation of the mechanism (reduced noise level, vibrations, exhaust smoke) already after 10 hours of engine operation.
- After the additional cylinder treatment: start the engine, run it for 4-6 hours, then treat the engine with XADO revitalizant gel through the lubrication system in 3 stages (items 22.4.1-22.4.5) and operate it in normal mode for at least 150 hours (or 3000 km) without overloads.
Points to watch
- To achieve maximum treatment efficiency, the residual life of the oil must be sufficient for the period of the full engine treatment cycle, i.e. for at least 1500 km of run.
- Additional (non-standard) filtering devices in the engine lubrication system may reduce the efficiency of revitalization.
- Additional (non-standard) filtering devices may reduce the efficiency of fuel system revitalization.
- In case of severe wear of fuel system components (more than 50%), the recommended rate must be doubled.
- During the additional cylinder treatment, reciprocating motion of the pistons must be ensured for 5-10 min by any convenient means (for example, by periodically cranking with the starter).
- During the treatment period, the engine is operated in normal mode without overloads.
