Guarantees and limits
Conditions under which treatment is not carried out, preparation and compatibility — according to instruction IE-24.6-25612000-005-2008; the method number is given in brackets.
Contraindications and compatibility
Treatment is not carried out
- A component with parts at 100 % wear and with macromechanical damage — chips, cracks, deep scratches, scoring — is not subject to treatment: worn or destroyed parts are to be replaced (all methods; general provisions).
- Rolling and plain bearings are not treated at a wear level of 80 % or more, or in the presence of defects and mechanical damage (methods 9, 10).
- Cylinder-piston groups of compressors with piston rings made of non-metallic materials are not treated; in such compressors only the crank mechanism is treated (method 1).
- Treatment of mechanisms and units with wick lubrication is not recommended (general provisions).
- Slideways with wear in the form of “saddling”, ridges and other damage to the working surface deeper than 0.1 mm are not treated in this condition (methods 12, 14, 16).
Compatibility
- With oils and fuel: compatible with all types, do not react chemically with them, do not change viscosity or other physical properties (general provisions).
- With additives: compatible with any additives, metal conditioners and remetallizers regardless of the order of application (general provisions).
- With automatic transmission fluids: Dexron, Mercon, Mopar ATF, CVT — viscosity, friction and other physicochemical properties do not change (method 6).
- With friction clutches operating in the oil bath of gearboxes: no adverse effect (methods 12, 13, 16, 17, 18).
- With surface materials: the coating forms on friction surfaces made of any metals and their alloys (general provisions).
Preparation before treatment
| Requirement | Components and units | Method |
|---|---|---|
| Oil leaks eliminated; for engines, it is also recommended to eliminate the causes of increased oil burn-off | piston compressors, reducers and gearboxes, bearings, lathe and grinding machine tools, hammers and presses, engines | 1 4 5 9 10 12 16 17 19 20 21 22 |
| Working fluid leaks eliminated | hydraulic systems of industrial equipment, machine tools, hammers and presses; power steering systems | 7 8 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 |
| Filter elements of the lubrication system flushed or replaced; in reducers with oil filtration, condensate removed from the moisture separators | piston, screw and centrifugal compressors, compressors of hammers and presses, reducers with oil filtration | 1 2 3 5 19 |
| Centrifugal oil filters cleaned and flushed (method 20); after flushing the oil system with a cleaner, the fine filter replaced or the centrifugal filter flushed (methods 21, 22; in method 20 — a recommendation) | industrial diesel engines, diesel engines with an oil volume up to 30 l, four-stroke petrol engines | 20 21 22 |
| Damage to the working surface of slideways deeper than 0.1 mm eliminated by machining — planing, grinding | slideways of machine tools, hammers and presses | 12 13 14 15 16 18 19 |
| The working surface of cylinders with wear close to the limit or damage deeper than 0.15 mm (engines), 0.1 mm (main motion cylinder of a hammer) treated with “XADO revitalizant gel for cylinder restoration” before the main treatment; in methods 21, 22 the gel is named “for cylinders” | cylinder-piston groups of diesel and petrol engines, main motion cylinders of hammers | 19 20 21 22 |
| The remaining oil life is sufficient for the full treatment cycle: at least 450 engine hours for industrial diesel engines, at least 1500 km for engines with an oil volume up to 30 l | diesel and petrol engines | 20 21 22 |
| Treatment is carried out on relatively clean oil — remaining life at least 40 %; with less remaining life the oil is replaced before treatment (method 2; in method 3 — a recommendation) | piston, screw and centrifugal compressors, compressors of hammers and presses | 1 2 3 19 |
Operating mode during treatment
- Additional (non-standard) filtering devices in the lubrication system and in the fuel system can reduce the effectiveness of revitalization (methods 20, 21, 22, 24); a contaminated filter of the filler reservoir has the same effect for power steering (method 8).
- Mechanical systems of several mechanisms of different purpose and precision with a common lubrication system containing multilayer fine oil filters are treated only with “XADO revitalizant gel for power steering (industrial)” (general provisions; method 5).
- The prepared mixture is added to reducers, spindle units and lubrication systems of machine tools with the equipment stopped (methods 4, 5, 12, 14, 15, 17, 18).
- At the first stage of hydraulic system treatment the pressure load is up to 50 % of the maximum permissible for 1–2 hours, then the nominal mode (methods 7, 14, 16, 17, 18, 19).
- After the compound is added, the unit is operated in the normal mode without overloads (methods 1, 19, 20, 22).
- Increasing the gel concentration specified in the instruction at the first stage is not recommended (general provisions).
- Treatment is carried out without an oil change (methods 4, 5, 7, 9, 14, 15, 17); with increased oil consumption, topping up is done with an additional quantity of gel (method 1).
- The gel is dissolved in the standard oil or hydraulic working fluid heated to 40–60 °C (methods 1, 3–5, 7, 9, 11–17, 19; in method 18 — main drive and hydraulic system) or to 50–60 °C (methods 2, 10; in method 18 — spindle unit), and stirred until completely dissolved; the gel is not added without dissolving (methods 2, 3).
Periods before the result appears
- Engines and fuel equipment: reduction in noise, vibration and exhaust smoke after 10 hours of operation (methods 21, 24).
- Power steering: reduced steering effort, precise operation and reduced noise from the first kilometres (method 8).
- If there is no improvement after 10 running hours or 500 km (fuel systems) or after 100–200 km (power steering), the most probable cause according to the instruction is an incorrect diagnosis of the component (methods 24, 8).
